Tick, Tock

It's been a while since I last posted - mostly because there really wasn't very much to tell.  We are just past the half way mark of the contract, so I'm trying to be patient.  Although things seem to be moving slowly, they are well ahead of schedule.  I'm still estimating end of May as a completion date, although handover will probably be in June.
The entry plaster, architraves and skirting seemed to take a very long time to be finished.  First they were supposed to be done before easter, then while we were meeting with the SS on the 12th, we were assured they were being finished that day.  Perhaps they'd be done when we had a look on the 18th?  Sorry, NO.

I think they might be done now, but on the weekend all the windows and doors were covered to protect them from the painting, so we couldn't see in very much.

So what has been done in the last three weeks?  A few bits and pieces:
- down pipes connected to the drains (mostly)
- wet area waterproofing in preparation for tiling
- painting preparation (filling holes etc)
- one day of painting...
- some brick edging has been removed around the kitchen window (I think the window height has been adjusted after the kitchen bench went in)

And that's about it.  We also nearly had our first big building issue.  Our neighbour raised the question that the garage gutter looks like it overhangs their property.  This goes back to when the slab was laid and we were expecting a 200mm offset from the fence.  It turns out that the fence is actually on our property, and the slab was laid 200mm from the property boundary, which just happens to put the slab right on the fence line.  But the builder couldn't provide any documentation to show this.
To cut a long story short, we found the boundary pegs and ran a string line and did a lot of measuring, and the neighbour is satisfied that it's all good.  So crisis averted.
